UGG & Jimmy Choo To Collaborate

Ugg Australia and luxury footwear label Jimmy Choo have teamed up to launch an ‘Ugg & Jimmy Choo’ women’s sheepskin footwear capsule collection.

Tamara Mellon told WWD, “Ugg Australia is the only other footwear I have in my wardrobe,” so naturally, she’d team up with Ugg to design a limited edition collection of five different sheepskin boots with classic Jimmy Choo design details.

There are no preview pictures as yet and the brands are keeping quiet on the design specifics although they have said that the styles will incorporate the construction of Ugg's sheepskin boots with the design details that embody the spirit of Jimmy Choo.

The five-style Ugg and Jimmy Choo collection, in multiple colour variations will be available in both brands' stores and on their Websites, as well as in selected retailers globally.

Although to most of us this collaboration may sound odd and certainly hard to envisage, retailers understandably cheered at the partnership. The excitement after the announcement confirms the business potential that exists when creative forces unite.

The range is not due in store until October 2010 but rest assured, we will bring you a sneaky peek as soon as we get our eyes on the range.

SATC2 is on it's way, due for release on 28/05/2010.

I am very excited about this even though I did find the first film something of a disappointment in comparison to the much loved series.

Probably adding to my excitement is the fact that I actually ran into my fav SATC man BIG last September when my real life fav man took me to NYC to propose.

Ahhh, how amazing that trip was and how completely star struck I was to meet Chris Noth. And oh dear how embarrassing it is to think back to the words that spilt out of my mouth when I spoke to him...Yes, I turned into a socially inept, teenage fantasy crush ridden fool:

Me: "OMG I love you....er, errr, obviously I don't love you, I don't know you but what I mean is I love your character, not actually you who I have only just met."

C.N: Clearly feeling sorry for me poses for a picture, congratulates us on our engagement and promptly escapes into the Greenwich Village night.

WOW!

P.S. He is even more gorgeous in real life but obviously not as gorgeous as my very own John James Preston ;0)

Golden Globes 2010 - Fashion Favs And Flops

The Golden Globes ceremony 2010 was hosted by no-other than our own Ricky Gervais, an interesting decision from the Globes bosses as the shows first host in 15 years.

Gervais also turned out to be suitably controversial, delivering a series of sting-in-the-tail one liners at the expense of Mel Gibson, Angelina Jolie and Sir Paul McCartney - perhaps being better received by those with a more 'English' sense of humour.

And so to the fashion pics of the evening, nothing too controversial here but here are our favs and flops.

Harrison Ford looking incredibly handsome at 67, wearing a stunning Navy single breasted suit. Effortless and timeless - Mr Ford we love you.

Mariah Carey bringing down a Herve Leger gown and making it look positively 'Trailer Trash'. Oh dear, oh dear when will she learn.

Kate Hudson pulling off a daring brilliant white Marchesa structured bridal gown, does this girl have a wrong fashion foot to put forward?

Diane Kruger resembling a 5 year old at a birthday party - awful.

Halle Berry positively rocking the plunging neckline look - take note Mariah.

Paul McCartney's girlfriend Nancy Shevell wearing what I can only describe as a 'chuck up' of a dress. Yes we love you Nancy, you are an infinite improvement on Heather but please lets get a style consultant on the go.

And so to my personal favourite...not show stopping nor cutting edge but oh the romance and class of it, it's the epitome of feminine. The ever stunning Emily Blunt in a baby pink Dolce and Gabbana gown.

JOY has been around for almost a decade, with 21 shops in the UK and an online store for those of us not lucky enough to live near one, so how has this wonderful store passed me by? Who knows but as the saying goes 'better late than never'. And I thank the girls in my boyfriends office for bringing this brand to my attention.

We've certainly seen our fair share of November rain in the UK this month so heading out into the elements for a little exercise without doubt requires wrapping up warm with a good waterproof coat and wellies.

Since casting my eyes on the Jimmy Choo Hunter Boot it would be true to say that I have lost some love for my trusty green Wellington boots, yes we have had a long and reliable relationship, attending festivals, walking in the cold Atlantic sea, playfully jumping in puddles and going for romantic rambles in the forest BUT I just can't ignore my feelings anymore.

I know it's just lust but fashion and lust walk hand in hand....in the rain, looking utterly fabulous - in this particular case ;0)

Pearl Lowe For Peacocks

Here at Fashion Femme we love a good collaboration so listen up because just in time for the Christmas party season Peacocks have collaborated with designer Pearl Lowe to launch a range of party dresses.

The collection comprises of five dresses which are modelled by Lowe's daughter and muse, Daisy and are available in stores now.

The collaboration is a first for the value retailer, which has never before teamed up with a designer.

The retro glamour-style dresses sell for between £35 and £40 in sizes 8 to 16 and are inspired by David Bowie’s Hunky Dory album.

Lowe said: “I’ve taken inspiration from the things I love – classic vintage shapes, intricate detail, lace and wonderful textiles.”

She added: “It was important that my designs were accessible and everything is under £40.”

Peacocks womenswear buying director Jane Hotz said: “We’re thrilled to be able to translate Pearl’s vintage designs for our customers. It’s been an inspiration turning her designs into reality.”

Peacocks added that this did not represent a new strategy for the retailer and that it would be a one-off collaboration.

Normally Peacocks is not a shop I would consider for a Christmas party dress but I think this range is certainly worth a look..
