I was invited to a home Jewellery party at a friends house last week and if I am really honest, I was sceptical...I've been to a couple of these sort of things before and I have always been really disappointed, the ranges have not been to my taste at all and that is awkward when you have to say 'how nice' the pieces are and then run out without buying anything.

So I was really pleased to learn that this 'trunk show' was made up of a lovely bunch of yummy mummys eyeing up some very gorgeous and funky jewellery designs.

Phew!

Founded by Jessica Herrin in 2004 with her Chief Creative Officer Blythe Harris, Stella & Dot is a San Francisco based company named after the founders grandmothers - aww :0). The company is huge and very successful, their jewellery has been featured in ELLE, Marie Claire, InStyle and Vogue to name but a few publications and seen on many celebrities.  I can't believe I hadn't heard of them!

Now, back to the 'trunk show'..I arrived late (story of my life) so missed the welcomes and S&D blurb but soon realised that this was going to be worth sticking around for. Deb, the Party Stylist was really helpful and informative without being anywhere near the hard sell. We tried lots of things on and sounded each other out for advice and ideas - I really loved this part of the process, I know first hand how fantastic it can be to get people out of their style comfort zone.

After perusing and chatting over a glass of wine or two for a couple of hours I decided on my purchases, I went for these darling Paradise Stud Earrings as seen on Anne Heche

This simple but elegant set of 5 Stackable Band Rings

Finally and slightly daring for me, this very beautiful Medina Bib Necklace as seen on actress Elizabeth Banks - out of my own comfort zone here but hey you've got to practice what you preach and all!

I even won myself a lovely little coin purse in the Hostess' prize draw :0) All in all it was a great night with lovely people getting to know a beautiful brand, Stella & Dot are certainly on our radar now.

Look out for the Alice by Temperly 'Wonderland' collection for Stella and Dot which launched on October 1st and the Breakthrough Breast Cancer range - during the month of October Stella & Dot will donate ALL NET PROCEEDS from sales of this range to breakthrough breast cancer charity.

Stella & Dot Rock!
