Italian designer Donatella Versace will be the next guest designer for Swedish fast-fashion chain H&M.

"I am thrilled to be collaborating with H&M and to have the opportunity of reaching its wide audience," she said. "The collection will be quintessential Versace, perfect for H&M and Versace fans everywhere."

Donatella Versace will create a collection alive with her Italian fashion house’s design signatures, including party dresses in studded leather and opulent prints. Besides womenswear, the collection will include ranges for men and a limited number of home decor pieces.

‘Versace is one of the most important brands of recent times, and their collection for H&M will be glamorous and flamboyant—everything Versace stands for,’ H&M Creative Advisor Margareta van den Bosch said in the release. ‘This is such a celebratory collaboration and is perfect for the party season.’

In stores from 17th November, the collaboration will be followed by a pre-spring collection in January 2012.

I might just chance my sanity, pop on some shin and knee pads and give this launch a whirl - I'm hoping for great things from this collaboration.
